Greg's Ecuadorian Adventure

Prior to the February break, which was a two-week intermission between  Quimesters , Kara and I played around with the idea of traveling together. On the list of potential places to go included Montevideo in Uruguay with a potential swing-through Buenos Aires in Argentina . Panama also came up, but not with as much enthusiasm from Kara. This was the only country in Central America she had not yet visited... which are my personal feelings about ever visiting China ( it just doesn't spark my interest ). After a week of delay, the ticket prices increased significantly for Uruguay, so we jumped on board for Panama. This was also around the time that her friend Boxer made official plans to come visit-- at least I think what happened? It was forever ago. Paradise is in San Blas. On the list of our itinerary was, of course, Panama City. Another place that sparked interest were the San Blas Islands, on the exact opposite side of the country from Panama City... literally. I spent six days (more like five and a half) in Panama . Three of these were in Panama City and the rest in San Blas Islands . I was excited about the trip because I was going with my friend Kara, someone whom I have grown really close to since pretty much landing in Quito in August, and her friend from Canada, Boxer. Much like my Christmas break trip, the diversity in these two locations on the land-bridge between South and North America are warranting two individual posts. Since the trip began and ended with Panama City (Panáma), it is going to be my first post between the two. Coming soon will be my experience in San Blas Islands. I was super exhausted from a week of going all over Pichincha Province that I had one full day of rest and time to pack my new traveling backpack (a 62 Liter bag named after me: the  Gregory Countour 50 ).
